We wrapped up 5 six-week Terms of Amanda Melby’s Scene Study in 2023 with ASU Professor/Fitzmaurice Institute Artistic Director MICHA ESPINOSA coming in to work with actors on scenes from “The Country House” by Donald Margulies.?We also saw scenes from Third, Doubt, Shakespeare, Films, and Exercises from Uta Hagen’s “A Challenge for the Actor.” 2024’s Scene Study schedule is now posted; Term 1 starts Feb 5 with Head Coach Amanda Melby.?Scene Study Master Class: Tennessee Williams starts Jan 25 with Laura Winstin. Congratulations to APA members Randy & Theresa Murray and their crew for their work on this series! Randy Murray Productions was hired by London based RAW TV to recreate all the drama scenes for the 3-part "American Nightmare" series.?They secured locations and hired local crews for this five-day production, which is now being released on Netflix. APA Members involved included: LOCAL PRODUCER Randy Murray, PRODUCTION MANAGER for RMP Kaylee Farrow (Nedley), 1ST AD Stephen Russell and ACCOUNTANT Theresa Murray. WARDROBE was handled by Skyler Gardner, Becky Andress was one of the ASSISTANT ART DIRECTORS, and DIT was Leo Reyes. Casting was done by Dani's Agency. #APAONSET! https://lnkd.in/gWFZDGAV

I have 10 years of experience in crafting and overseeing film projects, allowing me to develop a deep understanding of the industry's intricacies. I aim to actively contribute by fostering diversity within the apa, particularly by inviting and supporting young talents from various backgrounds. My goal is to create opportunities that empower a more inclusive and vibrant team, ensuring a broader representation of voices and perspectives within our industry.

ORTIZ, SHELLY - PRODUCTION COORDINATOR I've been a member of the APA for 3 years now! I joined after attending an APA presentation in a film class at Glendale Community College. I've been making films since I was a freshman in high school. My passion and focus has always been documentary filmmaking. I started working commercially in Phoenix about 3 years ago, and love it! What I love most about working in Phoenix is the community; therefore, my main focus in the AZ film industry is to maintain a sense of community in the field. One of my main priorities is to foster a culture of respect and diversity on set; all should be seen and heard, all points of view should be respected and appreciated. I can bring these values to the APA Board.

NEDLEY, KAYLEE - PRODUCTION COORDINATOR/PRODUCTION MANAGER; CREATIVE PHASE CO. (NOTE: Previously listed as Kaylee Farrow) I've been a member of the APA for just over a year. While I may not have much time under my belt in the production industry, I come from running a product based business for 6+ years. After I got my degree in film from ASU, I was swept away by the food and beverage industry. My small business (Iconic Cocktail Co.) was my first production. I was able to grow that business and produce a team that could carry out the message and branding my business partner and I brought to the table. I 'retired' from my small business and started taking more freelance jobs as a Production Coordinator in 2021. I have been lucky enough to be trained by qualified and empathetic Production Managers and Producers who are willing to invest time and energy in my career. Currently, I enjoy finding new learning opportunities in every commercial production I get hired on. When I am not coordinating or managing for other producers, I am developing my own stories and scripts that I hope to produce myself. I'd like to use my voice and my experiences to make projects with authenticity. My goal is to produce content that speaks to people while creating a working opportunity that I know my fellow creatives crave. Some skills that I bring to the table are organization, accountability, goal setting, and creative problem solving. Being incredibly adaptable, I can see myself contributing to the APA in areas that may need a system. I like identifying core values and 'the why' things are done in a certain way without disrupting the ecosystem that already exists. I have an open mind in which areas I could best benefit the APA. If given the opportunity, I look forward to working with others in their genius zones. I take a lot of pride and ownership in the tasks I commit to. So, I guess I'm looking forward to assisting the APA in whatever best serves our community of filmmakers and storytellers.
