The goal of Arizona GEAR UP centers on leveling the playing field for all students. During this grant cycle, Arizona GEAR UP will increase: * Academic performance and postsecondary preparation. * High school graduation and postsecondary enrollment rates. * Educational expectations for students and increase knowledge of postsecondary options for students and families.( Since grant funding began in 2000, Arizona GEAR UP has helped increase graduation rates, built capacity in targeted schools, helped create a college-going culture, and increased the college-going rate among Arizona youth. More than 15,000 students have benefited from Arizona GEAR UP in the past two decades.

Despite our predominant focus on digital impact, we recognize the significance of investing in face-to-face experiences. At the camp, students had the opportunity to meet their Agents in person and forge new connections with peers from various schools across Arizona and Nevada. ??? No way this city boy went camping!!! ?? Thrilled to have been the keynote speaker at the Student Success Agency Summer 2024 Camp in partnership with Arizona GEAR UP at Emmanuel Pines in Prescott, Arizona! I had the honor of delivering a speech titled "Lil’ Chris: A Letter 2 My Younger Self," where I shared the lessons I wish I had known before becoming an adult. It was an incredible full week experience, connecting with 150 juniors & seniors from Nevada/Arizona! During my speech, I emphasized three crucial actions students can take whenever they feel afraid navigating life as an adult: 1. Ask for Help: Don’t let EGO stand in the way. Reach out when you need support. 2. Share Your Passions: Let others know what you’re passionate about, it may open doors of opportunity. 3. Be Honest: Maintain honesty with those around you, even if it cost you the relationship. BE who you know you are.
