The State Bar of Arizona created the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services & Education in 1978 as a separate 501 (c) 3 nonprofit agency charging it with the mission of "promoting access to justice for all Arizonans." The Foundation works with volunteer lawyers & judges, the courts, legal aid agencies, schools, teachers, probation officers, state agencies, other philanthropic entities, local businesses, and national groups to reach across Arizona providing technical and financial assistance for civic education, legal aid services, and advocacy for equal access to the justice system.

CONGRATULATIONS to… Brad Lorenz as the March 2025 Faculty of the Month! We are proud to recognize Officer Brad Lorenz for his exceptional contributions to law related education! His commitment to LRE was evident throughout the lesson planning and development process for the academies. Throughout the planning process, Officer Lorenz was eager to collaborate and share valuable insights to make the lessons more impactful. His deep understanding of the law played a key role in making the lessons both relevant and accessible. On the day of the academy, Officer Lorenz provided support and encouragement to ensure that participants felt confident and involved. Being a current school resource officer, his experience teaching LRE was highly evident and helped provide positive reinforcement for others. Thank you, Officer Lorenz, for your outstanding work as an LRE Academy faculty member. We look forward to collaborating with you on more trainings in the future! Today, on her birthday, we honor her legacy with a glimpse into the 2025 iCivics AZ State Competition! iCivics.org is a web-based education project designed to teach students civics and inspire them to be active participants in our democracy.
