?Ever wondered what publications have truly influenced pharmacy clinical practice? With so many new scientific articles, it is hard to assess the breadth of publications and determine which are having the greatest impact. ? We’re excited to share a new publication which identifies the most disruptive papers in pharmacy literature that have changed clinical practice. It has just been published by the Arine team in the #American Journal of Health System Pharmacy! The publication identified the top 100 most disruptive papers published, the decade with the most disruptive papers published (spoiler alert - it was the 1990’s) as well as the journal with the most disruptive papers published. ?? This week at #HLTH2024, Arine hosted a small group of executives from the payer and provider space for a conversation on how AI-driven solutions are transforming the care delivery landscape and lowering the cost of care. We were joined by a special guest, Dr. Tristan Naumann, who is a Principal Researcher at the real-world evidence group at Microsoft Research. He leads explorations into how #AI can be applied to healthcare data in ways that directly impact patient care. This intimate setting provided a unique opportunity to discuss how AI may transform care with someone at the forefront of this research. Oftentimes the most value comes from organic discussion from a curious audience with different perspectives and this was no exception. Key topics that came up were: ??Precision medicine: - How multi-modal models unlock new opportunities for precision medicine, creating structure around real-world data - The need for models that take time and events into account in patient care ?Speed: - The benefit of using real world data in models, allowing for immediate feedback that can further train the model - How some applications of LLMs and multimodal models are likely to gain adoption in broader healthcare settings as soon as the next 1-2 years ??AI governance - How to ensure models minimize bias and take differences in gender, race, ethnicity, language, rural/urban settings, and other demographic, social, and behavioral factors into account.
