"Building a startup is a marathon, not a sprint" Argil (YC S24) journey represents that perfectly ?? 2 years ago, after a 15-minute call with Jean de La Rochebrochard (thx again for your trust???), we received our first €150K check from Kima Ventures Followed by Seedcamp (Sia Houchangnia) and Axeleo Capital (AXC) (Brice L.) co-leading a €1M pre-seed round. Our pitch? The "Zapier of generative AI." 1 year ago, after months of iteration and finding no product/founder-market fit, we decided to pivot to something completely new – with pain and doubt. We spent 5 months working day and night with a single obsession: building a state-of-the-art deepfake model. In March 2024 we achieved a breakthrough with our model gaining significant traction on social media with videos featuring Mark Zuckerberg, Barack Obama, and Marc Andreessen resharing his own Argil AI clone. Following this momentum, we met with Ted Persson and Sandra Malmberg ??? from EQT Ventures After a super fit and alignment on the vision, they decided to take the lead on our seed round. The climax? We were accepted into YC two days after getting the term sheet.
