Our final 40 Faces of the Arkansas Foodbank is ShaRhonda Love! ShaRhonda serves as the President of the Board and is a passionate advocate for public health across Arkansas. With a deep commitment to addressing food insecurity, she works tirelessly to ensure our community members—especially in rural areas—have access to essential services. In her own words: “My goal is to ensure we truly meet our community members where they are. Serving 33 counties across Arkansas, many in rural areas, we’re committed to bridging the gap for those already facing significant disparities. Our next Staff Highlight is Blake Lawhorne! Blake has been with the Arkansas Foodbank for three years, and as our Jr. Systems Administrator, he’s been instrumental in updating the Foodbank's IT systems. He also makes a marvelous Willy Wonka! When asked about his favorite part of working here, Blake says, “The people. It's remarkably easy to get along with everyone here, and people seem genuine and truly care… I'm thankful my path led me here. I underwent a massive career change, and it's hard to imagine a better organization to work with.” And we’re so glad you chose the Foodbank, Blake! ??

Supporting The Grove in North Little Rock is a joy! Together, we’re committed to ensuring everyone has access to healthy food. We couldn't be more impressed with their choice pantry, where neighbors are given the opportunity to "shop" for the food they need and will use! It is a small way to honor the dignity of those we serve. Thank you for all you do, The Grove - NLR!

We are so pleased to spotlight our CEO Brian Burton, who was nominated as the Large Nonprofit Executive of the Year from Arkansas Business Publishing Group! His commitment to our mission has not only transformed lives but also raised awareness for those who are experiencing food insecurity in our state. We'd also like to offer a massive congratulations to our friend Christie Jordan, who has been the CEO of the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas for over 27 years! As the winner of the Small Nonprofit Executive of the Year, we are so glad to see your hard work and dedication to the people of Arkansas recognized!

Our next 40 Faces of the Arkansas Foodbank are Jo & Presley Melton! The Melton Family are long-term supporters of the Foodbank - 26 years!! - and we are so thankful for their commitment to our mission! When asked why they continue to partner with the Foodbank, Jo & Presley say, "When we pause to see and hear stories of individuals in our state who are hungry, we are compelled to respond with compassion and support. Our next Staff Highlight is Cindy Nguyen! As our Program Operations Coordinator, Cindy plays a pivotal role in ensuring our food boxes are packed with the freshest produce and dry goods! When asked about her proudest accomplishment at work, Cindy replies: "I am proud to be able to help feed those in need by providing food assistance for the USDA Program, Backpack Program, Summer Feeding Program, Senior Box Program, and Pop Up Pantry Mobile distributions."
