ARFID Circle provides a safe space for individuals and their loved ones to find resources, share their experiences with ARFID, and find support. We believe that education and awareness are crucial in addressing this disorder, and we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information. Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder or ARFID is characterized by an extreme avoidance or restriction of certain foods, often due to sensory issues, low interest, or a fear of adverse reactions. This can lead to nutritional deficiencies, weight loss, and other health complications. The goal of the ARFID Circle is to share first-hand knowledge of living with ARFID and share real-life stories from others who have ARFID or have loved ones with ARFID.

As we approach the end of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week (#EDAW), I think it's important to share some useful information and resources. The theme this year is "The Time is Now," which carries a powerful message about the urgency of addressing mental health challenges. Every 52 minutes, someone loses their life to an eating disorder, making it one of the most serious mental health conditions, affecting ~29 million Americans in their lifetime. Yet, despite its prevalence, there's still so much misunderstanding about eating disorders and the barriers people face in seeking help. Let’s amplify the call for more research funding and evidence-based treatments. Eating disorders impact people of all ages, genders, and races, and it’s time we ensure everyone has access to the care they deserve. More research means better understanding, more effective interventions, and ultimately, changed lives. The?Time is Now.
