Most employers are terrible at recruiting. That might sound harsh, but it’s the truth. There’s no real "war for talent"—there are just companies that are excellent at recruiting and those that struggle. I recently had a great conversation on Confessions of a Recruiter, where I shared why I wrote Winning the War for Talent. The goal? To educate companies on how to recruit successfully—without necessarily relying on external recruiters. The reality is that internal recruitment teams are often under-trained, poorly managed, and overloaded with 40 to 60 jobs at a time.
