Last night, the Areo Dental Group team got together for a long overdue onesie party. There we listened as Dr Abhishek Nagaraj gave the State of the Company Address with a beautifully illustrated history of where it all began. Then Dr. Anushka Gaglani presented the Core Values Speech, handed out awards and surprised the team with new, actionable Core Values that fit the state of the business we are in now, as opposed to five years ago when the first set were created. We were introduced to a clan of new Areo Dental Group Mascots, among them are Arie O., Monty the Molar, and our very own Pumpkin - the cutest little Yorkie you’ve ever laid eyes on! Caitlin Maehr delivered an honorary tribute to the cofounders as Dr. Raj and Dr. G were presented with their own, long overdue awards to celebrate their Clinical Excellence and Stellar Leadership on behalf of Areo Dental Group. The team engaged in a scavenger hunt, followed by prizes, delicious Mediterranean food and a white elephant exchange. It was a super fun event and the team had a blast! Exciting News! We’re thrilled to welcome CLARIBEL BUENO to our team as an Operations Manager! With 14 years of experience in the industry, Claribel brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will help us continue to grow and enhance our operations. Claribel recently made the move from Boston to Chicago to join Areo Dental Group alongside Dr Abhishek Nagaraj, Dr. Anushka Gaglani and Caitlin Maehr, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her on board. Her leadership and strategic mindset will play a key role in driving efficiency, innovation, and excellence across our company. Please join us in giving Claribel a warm welcome!

Another successful Patterson Dental sponsored mixer with students from University of Illinois Chicago, Northwestern University, Marquette University and Loyola University Chicago (among others) in the books! It was a pleasure meeting so many soon to be graduates ??. Congrats to the classes of 2025! Each year we commit to mentoring a small group of new graduates as they embark on a lifelong career of service in the dental field. I have realized over the years, through the school of hard knocks that if we don’t let the wrong people go quickly enough, the right people will go too. We often talk about this internally but it continues to be one of the hardest things because we are in the relationship business and the wrong people can disguise themselves as the right people “temporarily”. But.. the snake always rears its head. The cardinal sin is to “want for other people more than they want for themselves” and I can’t say how many times I have been guilty of this. Letting people go gently has been one of my biggest learns as a business owner. It doesn’t have to be comprised of bad feelings or ill intentions. It just has to come from a good place for both you and the team member and those same people I have let go have become friends over the years and also found a place to work that better fits their needs. As someone who has been in non clinical roles my entire career in dentistry, I continue to be fascinated each time I get to attend a CE event and learn things from the doctors perspective. It’s pretty often that I hear dentists say “Caitlin, I don’t envy your job” and I say in return “I don’t envy yours!” (Just goes to show you that we are in the right roles ??)! But seriously, support for dentists is super critical. I love my job. I love that I get to be a part of helping doctors achieve their personal and professional goals, I love working with people who want to learn more and be better, I love being in the room with funny people who are real and authentic and share the stresses of their chairside experience. It makes me want to do better to support them. It makes me want to help the rest of our teams understand how absolutely necessary and invaluable all of their roles are. The event with ZimVie Dental was spectacular. Thanks to Stephen Bettano Chloe Knudtson and Michael Werner for supporting our group. Thanks to those who showed up right before a long weekend to learn. Thanks to Dr. Anushka Gaglani and Dr Abhishek Nagaraj for putting education at the forefront of Areo Dental Group.

General Dentists: I will do enough CE to keep my license active and make a decent income and provide decent care. 10X Dentists: I will be part of a group where I am allowed to collaborate and surround myself with people that help me think 10 times bigger and take 10 times the action I would otherwise take. I will continue to learn from others on how to break the ceiling and constantly be in the pursuit of excellence( see below post from Dr. Anushka Gaglani) Result: 10X more income, 10X more satisfaction and 10X better as a clinician!
