?? Exciting Week in NYC with the Barcelona Convention Bureau! ?? Last week the Barcelona Convention Bureau was in New York City. It was a fantastic experience as we connected with various meeting and incentive clients, showcasing the vibrant offerings of Barcelona as a premier destination for events. Noemí Rosell and Marta Aldana Martínez had the opportunity to participate in Northstar Meetings Group's #SMUInternational which provided a platform for networking and collaboration, highlighting the importance of face-to-face interactions in our industry. A big thank you to the Barcelona Convention Bureau for their visit and for sharing their passion for this beautiful city. #OnMyMeetingsMind: Maastricht, in the very south of the Netherlands. I joined the Sustainable Chemistry Meets Arts program put together by the Maastricht Convention Bureau. We started the day at the Brightlands Chemelot Campus, formerly the home of DSM in Sittard, learning about the impressive collaboration of academia and industry, with a one-of-a-kind incubator and accelerator for Chemistry startups/scaleups. This unique campus also boasts its own flexible meeting facilities and auditorium. In the afternoon we visited the MECC Maastricht, a super flexible congress centre as with two back-to-back auditoriums and 50+ meeting rooms and several exhibition halls in a very compact footprint. An impressive venue that is currently hosting the very unique TEFAF show. This unique fine arts fair brings together 300+ galleries as exhibitors attracting dealers and museum curators as well as the general public. It’s a blend of a trade show and pop-up museum. Other than galleries, there is a very high end food offering and the show – which lasts for one week – takes three months to build. A mix of very high-end and solid booth build, coupled with the extremely sensitive and expensive objects on display contribute to the length of the build. A truly unique event. EXCITING NEWS! ?? Connectivity between Darwin and Asia is growing with AirAsia’s new non-stop service between Darwin and Kuala Lumpur, set to launch on June 27. As the closest Australian convention centre to Southeast Asia, this new route comes as welcome news. Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) was recently ranked the world's second most internationally connected airport.
