    Twelve months ago, I began working with a brand owner who was generating around $12K per month in online sales, entirely organic. Her success was driven by a strong social media presence and YouTube channel, which she relied on to promote her business. On our very first call, she told me, “Angie, I want to grow so that I no longer need to create YouTube content to support my family. I want to focus on my brand full-time, replace my salary, and still have room to grow.” I took on the challenge! The first step was creating a new website to provide better analytics, enabling us to make data-driven decisions. Next, I emphasized the need for full control over the creative process to test more aggressively. I asked for a larger ad budget, without any guarantee of immediate success, and proposed a stronger product launch strategy to maximize each promotion. We began teasing upcoming campaigns and building her email list for sustained engagement. I also recommended switching her email platform to Klaviyo for enhanced personalization and retention, and then asked her to sacrifice a bit of her margin to consistently hit six-figure months. And you know what? Through all of this, she never pushed back. She placed her full trust in me, my team, and the process. Now, we’re about to hit the 7-figure milestone, and she’s been able to quit YouTube, provide for her family, create jobs, and live out her dream—all while we’re just getting started. The takeaway?     Are your Meta ads crap since February? Here are some common trends I am seeing across our accounts we manage: - Obvious increase in CPMs and CAC/CPA - Started around February 14th - Video CPMs are higher than statics - Lead Gen is hurting the most - All winnings ads suddenly DIED - Frequencies increasing Important to note NOT all brands are under performing. The brands that are hurting the most have very poor retention, little to no market fit and solely depend on Meta for revenue. Here is what we are having success with even during these difficult times: - Short 10 second videos - my thought behind this test was to get as many 100% video views as possible in conversion campaigns to almost re-teach the algo. Works best if you take your best performing ads and cut them into various 10 second segments. Add a catchy hook and text overlay! - Cost caps - add $10 on top of your ideal CPA to get the campaign to spend. I’m not scaling these campaigns by any means but again it’s forcing the algo to find customers. - Consolidation - the less campaigns running the better. For the most part we have a testing campaign and a scaling campaign. In some cases I split statics and videos into individual campaigns to have a little more control in testing. With that said we haven’t had much luck transitioning winning ads into scaling campaigns lately so I’ve been increasing the testing campaign budget AND still using it to test as well. - Testing Non ASC+ - Contriversal I know but frequencies are high even with little to no retargeting budget allocated. CPMs are generally higher with retargeting so if the goal is to find new customers you might want to consolidate and go back to the old campaign structure without advantage plus and tighten up your exclusions and create another small budget retargeting campaign IF you have a longer buying cycle. - The obvious SALES - If all fails run a sale! I know it’s not ideal but at the end of the day we need to find immediate ways to cover fixed costs. Flash sales are great and don’t require a huge production, slash prices on your website and bump up budget on your best performing prospecting campaigns and launch a retargeting campaign with the offer slapped over winning statics and videos and boom! The attached image is one of our fashion brands we manage running an end of season sale we 3X’ed ad spend and so far have maintained a healthy 7X MER. I hope this helps!
