We are thrilled to be working with Jubilee Association of Maryland, The Training Source, Compass Inc, Opportunities Inc, and SEEC on the Direct Support Professional Skill-Up for Success Program funded by Maryland Department of Labor. We are very excited to work with Maryland DSPs to further support them to ensure they are equipped with the tools needed to excel and thrive in their roles. This program will run from March 202 until June 2026, and we are eagerly awaiting all the empowerment to come from those that complete this training! #UNSTOPPABLE #InCommunityTogether #Advocacy #IDD

Today we had the privilege of celebrating our newest DSP II cohort! ???? These DSPs were selected to undergo 5 months of training to equip themselves with additional tools, knowledge, and perspective to enhance the way they are able to empower the people we support and work for. Hearing how this program has helped them grow as Direct Support Professionals—and how they plan to apply what they’ve learned to their work—was truly empowering! Yesterday was a day full of advocacy and empowerment! Some of the people we support, our Direct Support Professionals, Ardmore staff, and a couple of our Board member spent the day telling their stories and letting legislators know the substantial impact the proposed budget cuts would have on their lives and the lives of the entire Maryland IDD community. We look forward to working with state legislatures to #saveourddservices before the budget is voted on. We would like to thank every person we support and work for, every Ardmore staff person, and the Ardmore Board Members who took today to advocate with the IDD community during #DDDay2025. Developmental Disabilities Day is tomorrow! Tomorrow we will be meeting with multiple state legislators about the budget cuts to DD services included in Governor Wes Moore's proposed budget and educating them on the substantial impact these cuts would have on their constituents and other Marylanders in the IDD community. This month, we honor and celebrate the rich contributions, impact, sacrifice, and resilience of Black Americans and their unstoppable pursuit of equality and justice in the U.S. We at Ardmore work to ensure the people we support are afforded these same equalities. We have come a long way, but our work is far from over. Things such as employment opportunities, inclusion in your own community, and the ability to have a voice in conversations that involve you are more than civil rights, they’re basic human rights.
