ARCTOS Technology Solutions (“ARCTOS”) has completed its first delivery and installation of our AMSENSE? product for a European aerospace customer. AMSENSE is the ultimate platform for metal additive manufacturing (AM) in situ sensing and analytics, providing better build process visibility and part quality insights for both research and development and parts production. Developed through funding from NASA, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency, and private expense, AMSENSE has been available commercially since 2020, and since installed across a wide range of metal AM machines at industrial, academic, and government sites. The platform is designed with modularity from the start, with the capability to tailor both the sensors and the analytical algorithms to best meet use case needs. NLR-MAMTeC is the independent Metal Additive Manufacturing Technology Centre in the Netherlands. It is part of the Royal Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR). The AMSENSE in situ sensing and analytics platform supports NLR with the development of new approaches for monitoring of process stability, anomaly detection, development of variable process parameter approaches and validation of thermal simulations. These developments are part of the long-term vision at NLR-MAMTeC to enable the production of homogeneous materials with predictable material properties using AM for easier Qualification and Certification. ARCTOS is proud to partner with Royal NLR as a supplier to advance their AM capabilities.
