Our common goal is for our citizens to have good lives in sustainably developed and resilient communities throughout the Arctic. We achieve our mission by providing an open and collaborative platform for our members, including Indigenous Peoples from around the Arctic.

From 22-27 June 2025, we’re bringing together around 35 young individuals in Kittil?, Finland for an immersive experience shaping the Arctic’s future! ?? What’s in store? ?? Workshop sessions on climate and nature related policy topics ?? Engaging in the EU Arctic Forum & Indigenous Peoples’ Dialogue ?? Cultural exchanges & networking with Arctic and European youth ?? Presenting Youth Needs-Based Suggested Actions for a Just and Sustainable Transition to policymakers ?? Who can apply? Young individuals aged 18-35 from Arctic states or European countries with a passion for climate action, sustainability, and youth engagement. If you’re 18-25, we especially encourage you to apply! ?? ATTENTION ARCTIC YOUTH ?? Applications are now open for the Arctic Youth Dialogue 2025 in Kittil?, Finland. The AYD is part of the Youth Together for Arctic Futures project, which is funded by the European Union to connect and engage youth from across the Arctic and the EU on topics related to Arctic Policy. The AYD will gather around 35 young people from across the Arctic and the EU to exchange ideas and perspectives about the theme of: “Youth Needs-Based Suggested Actions for a Just and Sustainable Transition”.?The outcomes of their discussions will be shared with the public at the EU Arctic Youth Dialogue, which will occur during the EU Arctic Forum and the Indigenous Peoples’ Dialogue.?Applications are open to any young person between 18 and 35 from the Arctic states, or from the European Union until March 2, 2025. #EUArctic #EUForeignPolicy #YouthTogetherForArcticFutures #EUArcticForum Find the application and additional information here: https://lnkd.in/dzDrTY7A

Emerging leaders from six circumpolar countries are in Reykjavík participating in the third #ArcticPolicyHackathon, in collaboration with the Arctic Mayors′ Forum. Before the Hackathon, participants were welcomed by the Canadian Ambassador to Iceland Jenny Hill - an invaluable opportunity that set the context for the following policy discussions. The emerging leaders are now busy working together to develop policy recommendations examining how to deliver a Sustainable Future for Arctic Tourism. Next week, I will be in Reykjavik with a group of forward-thinking, young, and passionate individuals to delve into the topic of?sharing the Arctic - a sustainable future for Arctic tourism????? This is as a participant in the?Gordan Foundation’s Policy Hackathon, followed by the?Arctic Circle Assembly, where our recommendations will be presented and discussed ??? Personally, I find the entire setup very exciting from a professional standpoint, but most of all, I look forward to building new relationships and expanding my network across borders. Not to forget, gaining new perspectives and ideas on what is possible and where opportunities lie. I am truly excited to spend the next week diving deep into what I am passionate about: (political) business opportunities and sustainable communities in the north! ?? The Gordon Foundation?is an organization dedicated to strengthening communities through innovative policy and leadership. They conduct policy hackathons to bring together people with diverse experiences and perspectives to discuss specific policy issues and develop concrete solutions. This year, participants come from Greenland, Finland, Canada, Iceland, Sweden, and Norway ????????♀???♂????? Together with Arctic Mayors′ Forum and Global Affairs Canada | Affaires mondiales Canada, these hackathons is arranged provide participants with the opportunity to learn about the policy development process, expand their networks, and contribute valuable insights that can influence decision-makers.
