Refreeze the Arctic. Stabilize the climate.
关于我们
Arctic Ice Project (formerly Ice911 Research) is the most studied ice restoration effort in the world. As a climate restoration nonprofit, we’re developing a safe, localized technique to improve ice reflectivity, increase the Earth’s planetary albedo, and slow the rate of global warming. A widespread implementation of our technology could buy up to 15 more years while our planet decarbonizes. We begin with Arctic ice, a crucial lever in the fight against climate change. The loss of reflective ice in the Arctic and the planet's temperature rise are linked, and our mission is to protect what remains. Despite COVID disruptions, our mission to restore Arctic sea ice hasn’t stopped. While it's been difficult, our fieldwork, climate modeling, and ecotoxicological testing are safely continuing.

This #GivingTuesday, gift the Arctic a future. The Arctic as we know it is changing rapidly. Sea ice loss and climate warming are accelerating at an unprecedented rate. And as ice melts, so does our ability to protect our planet from the impacts of climate change. The Arctic isn’t just an incredible and beautiful ecosystem—it’s also essential to the future of our planet. It stabilizes our climate, regulates global temperatures, and reflects solar radiation. Without it, we lose one of Earth’s most vital defenses against climate change. But there’s limited time before Arctic sea ice disappears completely. That’s why I joined Arctic Ice Project—to focus on solutions that can make a real impact. We’re developing groundbreaking strategies to slow sea ice melt by enhancing the Arctic’s reflectivity, helping to preserve this critical region and safeguard the future of our planet. This Giving Tuesday, I’m asking for your support to make this vision a reality. Together, we can protect what matters most—our planet and our future.

This #GivingTuesday, gift the Arctic a future. The Arctic as we know it is facing unprecedented ice loss and warming, and as sea ice melts, our future goes along with it. We’ve already seen the signs, and they aren’t pretty. The Arctic is an incredible and beautiful ecosystem. It’s also vitally important. It stabilizes our climate, regulates global temperatures, and reflects the sun’s heat. Without it, we lose a key defense against climate change. Arctic Ice Project is driving innovation to slow ice melt to protect the Arctic and our planet at large. Let’s work together to protect what matters most – our plant and our future. Help us meet our goal this Giving Tuesday. Make a donation today. https://lnkd.in/g6gtb5YZ

As we enter into this season of giving and gratitude, we want to express our deepest appreciation for your incredible support in our mission to preserve Arctic sea ice. Your generosity, whether in dollars or in spirit, reaches far beyond numbers on a donation page. Knowing we have a community of people believing in our work fuels us to strive harder day after day. Following along and sharing our message creates potential to touch the lives of all living creatures that call our planet home. Your dedication to our mission warms our hearts during this season and year-round. Thank you for being here.

This past week, Arctic Ice project Technical Director Stephanie Olinger and CEO Annette Eros ventured north (far north!) for this year’s Arctic Circle Assembly. The weekend was packed with riveting?discussions on all things Arctic with thought leaders and representatives from around the globe. Curious to learn more? Arctic Ice Project has been recognized in a significant new initiative led by Ocean Visions —a first-of-its-kind digital road map aimed at identifying and advancing potential pathways to slow the loss of Arctic sea ice. The inclusion of AIP in this comprehensive assessment underscores our role as a key contributor in the global effort to combat one of the most urgent indicators of climate change: the accelerated melting of Arctic summer sea ice. Our hearts are with the people and communities affected. In the shadow of Hurricane Helene, the southeastern US is now assessing the damage from Hurricane Milton, which made landfall as a Category 3 last night. With more than 230 lives lost from Helene, billions in damages, and an unknown toll as a result of Milton, our attention and concern is focused on our screens for updates. As global temperatures continue to increase, the severity and frequency of natural disasters is projected to rise in tandem, underscoring the importance of acting now to prevent the worst of these rapidly intensifying global shifts. Stay strong. Photo: Tampa Bay Times

Arctic ice is crucial for regulating the global climate, reflecting solar radiation and slowing warming. As it melts, darker ocean surfaces absorb more heat, accelerating climate change. Sea ice loss also disrupts ecosystems, threatens wildlife, and impacts global weather patterns. Protecting Arctic ice is essential for climate stability and biodiversity. #ClimateAction #ArcticIce #Sustainability
NASA Just Released an Update on Arctic Ice Loss. Here's what you need to know: This summer, Arctic sea ice has once again reached near-historic lows, marking the?seventh-lowest level recorded since satellite observations began in the late 1970s. NASA's latest findings underscore the urgent need for awareness and action regarding climate change. As the Arctic continues to warm, understanding the implications of ice loss, not only local ecosystems but also global weather patterns and climate systems, becomes increasingly critical.
