On July 11, our Arcosa Marine plant in Ashland City, Tennessee launched their 30,000-barrel tank barge that is 297 feet, 6 inches long. This is the largest barge Arcosa manufactures. From start to finish, it took 175 employees 55 days to build this barge for our Arcosa customer. Barges are typically more cost and energy efficient compared to rail and truck transport, reducing fuel consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Inland towing emits 1/10th of the GHG emissions of trucks per ton of cargo hauled. This one barge takes 144 tractor-trailers off our nation’s highways and 46 railcars off railroad tracks. Watch the launch into the Cumberland River through the eyes of a drone as this barge begins the journey to its new home. Congratulations, Arcosa Marine! Thank you being committed to building a better world. #Arcosa #Buildabetterworld #sustainability

Today marks the beginning of Arcosa’s fifth annual company-wide United Way campaign! To kick off our campaign, Arcosa employees from our headquarters in Dallas volunteered at Bonton Farms last week. United Way partners with different organizations to help improve access to education, income and health, and Bonton Farms plays a part in that by providing access to healthy food in their community. ? While volunteering, Arcosans helped the farm team harvest, prune, and wash 196.3 lbs of crops. What would’ve taken the farm team about a week to harvest, only took our volunteers a few hours. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve Bonton Farms and for the positive impact they are making in their community. ? #BuildABetterWorld #UnitedWay2024

Happy Earth Day! At Arcosa, we are unified in our commitment to build a better world and actively strive to support the sustainability of our environment. Last year, our Arcosa Specialty Materials plant in Canada experienced a very dry spring and summer. These mines are heavily dependent on the use of collected surface water for production at wash plants and a dry season can negatively impact efficiency. To address this opportunity, this mine’s management team collaborated with our plant in Seattle, WA to reimagine the water-intensive crushing process from start to finish. After significant planning and vetting, the team implemented a new process to crush materials using a new “dry” method, while still maintaining quality, sizing, and production rates. Here are a few benefits of the new process: - Minimizes water requirements for crushing material - Reduces natural gas consumption in downstream production process to dry oversaturated material at a sister site - Improves material efficiency through reduced over-crushing, extending mine reserve life More stories on how Arcosa is supporting the sustainability of our environment will be available in our 2023 Sustainability Report, coming soon. #EarthDay #BuildaBetterWorld #Arcosa
