Last week we welcomed 50 enthusiastic Township High School District 211 students to our office to learn about architecture and what it takes to become a licensed architect. Students were broken up in teams and accepted the design challenge of creating a structurally sound popsicle stick bridge. Learning the value of working together under a strict time limit, each group built a unique design. We are eager to see the wonderful futures these students will have!

And just like that, construction has begun! Yesterday we celebrated the groundbreaking of BERWYN SOUTH SD 100's new District Education Center. Board of Education members, students, faculty & community members joined together to celebrate the new 40,000 SF facility that will house administrative offices, a board room, professional development spaces, and much more. Our team has enjoyed working with the Berwyn South community & our industry partners on this new facility and cannot wait to see the progress in the coming months. Construction Management: F.H. Spaces inside School District U-46's new Hawk Hollow Middle School are starting to take shape! The George Sollitt Construction Co.'s team is nearly finished with the new addition's classroom casework & the corridor ceiling grid, while the existing building renovations are focused on mechanical controls and above-ceiling inspections for now. We are excited these spaces are starting to look like the rendered models created months ago!

Earlier this school year, we completed the final phase of district-wide library renovations for Community Consolidated School District 21; a total of 12 schools over 3 years. Our design team was able to transform the existing libraries into modern, cutting-edge learning media centers with dedicated classroom setups, collaborative spaces & new STEM labs. Together with Nicholas & Associates, Inc., we were able to create spaces that align with the district's curriculum goals.

Let's celebrate our March ARCON anniversaries! Serving as our finance guru behind the scenes, Donna is celebrating 8 years as ARCON's Chief Financial Officer. Her expertise continues to guide ARCON to a bright future. As the Marketing Coordinator, Sarah has had the opportunity to grow the ARCON brand while still having fun event planning over the past 3 years. Time flies when you're working with Tony Tremonte! Celebrating 41 years at ARCON, Tony’s tenure has surpassed the ages of 90% of the office. His lively personality and great sense of humor lights up the office each day.

Let the construction fun begin! Together with F.H. Paschen, we have officially broken ground on the new 36,500 SF addition at Union Ridge School District 86. The new addition & renovations will include many new classrooms, an innovative new library, an updated cafeteria, new student collaboration spaces & much more. What a fantastic turnout at today’s Facility Professionals Conference! Our very own VP Trinh led a presentation on the guiding principles of summer construction with Jolene Linneman from School District U-46 and Jason Wasser from International Contractors, Inc. Construction is moving quickly at Wheaton Christian Grammar School! Inside the new 31,000 SF addition the geothermal pumps have been installed, door and window frames are being placed & masonry walls are up.
