Today, we’re excited to wish a happy birthday to Luis Contreras, Archive’s Mexico Clinical Operations Manager! We asked Luis why healthcare matters to him, and his perspective is one we can all appreciate: "I learned to enjoy everything around me—family, friends, pets, nature, and even the weather. To fully enjoy all these things, healthcare is the key. It’s all about quality of life." We also love discovering how our team takes care of themselves, and Luis leads by example: *He starts his day with gratitude for both the good and the challenges that help him grow *He connects with his work team, spends quality time with his wife & dogs *He maintains a healthy diet & dedicates time to exercise at the gym *He finds the positive in everything & never forgets to smile daily—"A day without laughing is a day wasted." Luis, your positive outlook and commitment to well-being inspire us all. We hope your day is filled with all the things that bring you joy! #HappyBirthday #QualityOfLife #WorkplaceWellness #MindBodyBalance #Gratitude #WholePersonCare #WellnessJourney #Archivecares

On this last day of February, Archive wants to talk about Rare Disease Day. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness for rare diseases to improve access to treatment and medical representation for those people—including a member of Archive’s own management team—living with rare diseases. While this year we’re observing Rare Disease Day on February 28th, it’s traditionally observed on February 29th because—you guessed it—it’s the rarest day we have. Some facts about rare diseases:? - In the United States, a disease is considered rare if it affects fewer than 200,000 Americans.? - Over 7000 rare diseases are characterized by a broad diversity of disorders and symptoms that vary not only from disease to disease but also from patient to patient suffering from the same disease.? - 72% of the diseases are genetic and almost 1 out of 5 cancers is rare. - Of the 7,000 known rare diseases, approximately 95 percent have no treatment. - Many rare diseases and disorders are not being studied by medical researchers. - Often, patients are treated “off-label” (treatments that are not approved by the FDA for the specific disease), which can lead to insurance reimbursement problems. Rare diseases are present across the medical spectrum. Some are widely recognized by name, such as cystic fibrosis, while others are less known, such as cat eye syndrome. Most cancers (all but a few types) are rare. There are rare neurological and neuromuscular diseases, metabolic diseases, chromosomal disorders, skin diseases, bone and skeletal disorders, and rare diseases affecting the heart, blood, lungs, kidneys, and other body organs and systems. If you have a rare disease, we know it can feel isolating. Archive is doing our best to help by improving the level of care each individual receives as well as increasing the amount of time our practitioners are able to spend with each patient, so they feel truly listened to and can get the individualized care they need. Today, we’re excited to wish a happy birthday to two amazing members of the Archive team—My Trinh, one of our Kansas Nurse Practitioners, and Cristian Urquiza, one of our Texas Athletic Trainers! We asked them both why healthcare matters to them, and here’s what they said: ?My Trinh: "Healthcare is the foundation of a person's well-being and quality of life. Access to quality care changes lives—not just by treating illness, but by promoting wellness, disease prevention, and improving overall health outcomes. Healthcare is about connection, trust, and making a lasting impact on individuals, families, and communities." Cristian Urquiza: "Growing up, I saw my dad help people as a nurse, and I knew I wanted to do the same—I just wasn’t sure how. Then, in college, I started training, saw the results, and loved it. It helped me physically and mentally, and eventually led me to my profession. Seeing clients reach their goals is an incredible feeling. Knowing I helped improve someone’s life is so rewarding." We couldn’t agree more! At Archive, whole-person care is at the heart of what we do, built on connection, trust, and a passion for helping others. We also love learning how our team takes care of themselves: My’s wellness routine: Stretching, puzzles, pilates, journaling, flower arranging, and mindfulness. Cristian’s go-to self-care: Working out—"It’s like meditation to me. I put on my earphones, focus, and let stress melt away. When I’m done, I can handle everything better." We love seeing different approaches to health and wellness! What are your go-to rituals for staying healthy in mind and body? #HappyBirthday #HealthcareHeroes #WholePersonCare #WellnessJourney #AthleticTraining #NursePractitioner #MindBodyBalance #WorkplaceWellness #Archivecares

This Mindfulness Monday, our clinical manager, Aziza Khakimova, shares another tip for managing mental and physical wellbeing:? ? “One of the ways I support my health and wellness journey, including maintaining a work-life balance, is through cold plunging. This therapy has gained a lot of attention recently—for everything from stress management to reducing inflammation—but many people still have questions (or hesitations!). Here are a few key things to know about cold plunging: It’s not for everyone, but it can be especially beneficial for: - Anxiety & mood disorders - Menopausal & hormonal symptoms - Inflammation & acute/chronic pain - Metabolism & insulin sensitivity - Vascular function & muscle recovery Typical water temperature is 40-50°F and you need 1-2 minutes, 1-2 times a week to start seeing benefits. Breathing is key! After the initial 30-second shock, deep breathing helps shift the body out of fight-or-flight mode. At 30-45 seconds, norepinephrine & dopamine increase, leading to: - Boosted energy & focus - Stabilized heart rate & breathing - Metabolic rate increase up to 350%" Celebrities like LeBron James, Kate Hudson, Lady Gaga, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Wahlberg, and Jessica Biel swear by it, so why not give it a try? If you don't have access to a cold plunge tub or cold lake--take a cold shower! Have you tried cold plunging? Let us know in the comments. #ColdPlunge #WellnessJourney #StressRelief #MindBodyBalance #WorkLifeWellness #ArchiveCares #MindfulMondays #Healthcare

This past Wednesday, our Archive team gathered for a Lunch and Learn on identifying and treating common musculoskeletal issues. While the discussion focused on injuries common in manufacturing settings, many of these issues also affect office workers—including those of us scrolling through LinkedIn right now. So, take a moment at your desk and try these Range of Motion (ROM) tests to check for tension in your hands, fingers, and wrists: Phalen’s & Prayer Sign – Screens for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Scissor, 2 Thumbs, & 4 Fingers Techniques – Identifies edema, stiffness, and tenderness Finkelstein’s Test – Checks for de Quervain’s tenosynovitis by overstretching the tendon and assessing for pain If you feel discomfort during these tests, don’t ignore it! Reach out to your primary care provider to learn what steps you can take to relieve tension and prevent further strain. How do you take care of your hands and wrists throughout the workday? #WorkplaceWellness #InjuryPrevention #MusculoskeletalHealth #HandCare #ManufacturingHealth #OfficeErgonomics #ArchiveCares #Healthcare

Today, we’re getting a sneak peek into a #dayinthelife of Julia Gorka, one of Archive’s associate therapists. In her role, Julia provides care for both private-pay patients and those in our California onsite clinics. As an associate, she benefits from supervision with one of Archive’s senior therapists, gaining valuable mentorship and support. She also takes part in our bi-weekly case consultations and Humanities Course, where we explore the wisdom of classic texts to uncover what benefits they can offer our own lives. We’re proud to have Julia on our team and grateful for the kindness and depth she brings to her work. We’re growing our team of reflective, curious therapists, so if you’re interested in working for Archive Therapy, let’s talk! #associatetherapist #behavioralhealth #counselor #mentalhealthmatters #holistichealthcare #archivecares #therapyrecruiting

One of our Ohio nurse practitioners shared the following story as an example of healthcare working as it should—putting in the time and resources to help a patient and her family when she needed it most: “The patient first came into my office because she was having anxiety attacks after a close family member passed away. She was under a lot of stress; on top of her usual responsibilities, she was dealing with the estate of the family member while also trying to contend with her grief. She had a history of bipolar disorder but had been stable on her medications for a while. During that first visit, we discussed fast-acting medications the patient could use to help her at the onset of a panic attack and we also discussed the necessity of setting up grief counseling for her and her child, who was also struggling with the loss. We spoke about her loved one and the importance of embracing grief rather than trying to hide from it. A week or so later, the patient returned. She was having a manic episode where she’d been unable to sleep for the past 48 hours. She didn’t want to go to the ER for evaluation because that would leave her child with nowhere to go if she was admitted. Together, we got in contact with a local outpatient psychiatric office. They did a complete evaluation that same day and, within a couple of days, she was able to see a psychiatrist to adjust her medications. The outpatient psychiatric visit meant she was able to keep working and caring for her child. Since having her medications adjusted, she’s been stable and she is still benefitting from weekly grief counseling.” We’re so grateful to our provider for her dedication to helping her patient get the care she needs. #archivecares #healthcare #nursepractitioner #patientsuccess #successstory #patientcare?
