  • The Architecture Advantage team had a busy Thursday connecting with our communities in the Twin Cities and Duluth. Take a look at what we were up to! 1-2: Lauren and Seann attended Dunwoody College of Technology's Spring 2025 Career Fair to chat with students about their career paths as future architects and designers and share more about Architecture Advantage. They even had the chance to catch up with Deino, who is in her final semester of Dunwoody's Architecture program. 3-4: Kane attended Chum's Expansion Extravaganza, a fundraiser for supporting the non-profit and the important work they are doing in the Duluth community. Architecture Advantage is honored to be working with Chum on the expansion of their building and look forward to sharing more about this project as it progresses. 5: Our St. Paul team closed out the day at the St. Paul Area Chamber's 157th Annual Meeting. This year's theme was The Power of One, focusing on how one person or one moment can positively shape your path. They left feeling inspired by all of the speakers, including St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter, and excited for the future of the city.

  • The remodel of Kirby Student Center's Rafters Room at the University of Minnesota - Duluth is complete! Among the upgrades to the event space were re-working the ramp and storage areas, updated lighting design, and new furnishings. We're thrilled with how the project came together and look forward to all of the use this multi-purpose space will get in the years to come. Swipe to check out some before and after photos. • Another Team Workshop Day is in the books! Our Duluth and St. Paul offices met up to celebrate our impact and achievements from last year and discuss our 2025 goals. This year's breakout session was all about conflict resolution to help us understand our individual conflict styles and give us tools to better navigate conflict if it arises. Thank you to our team members who made this day so successful and to Braham Event Center for hosting us again!

  • We are excited to share that Architecture Advantage is now a Just labeled organization! The #JustLabel is a voluntary disclosure tool through the International Living Future Institute designed to help organizations demonstrate their commitment to social equity, employee health and well-being, and the vitality of the communities in which they operate. As a small, woman-owned firm, the Just label process has given us a fresh perspective on the benefits we offer and the culture we are building amongst our team, and has prompted us to implement small, yet meaningful changes, leading to a more inclusive and supportive work environment for everyone. We are so proud of this label, and you can learn more about our journey to obtaining it here: https://ow.ly/MN6U50UHF7t

  • It was a big year wrapping up higher education projects for our team, and we're happy to share photos of our completed renovation of AB Anderson Hall (ABAH) at the University of Minnesota - Duluth. The renovation of ABAH brought significant improvements, particularly for students and faculty in the Communications and Art Department. The project introduced a new HVAC system, updated classrooms and offices, and revitalized common spaces, greatly enhancing both functionality and atmosphere. • We're excited to share another project we closed out this year was the Student Center & Bookstore Renovation at Metropolitan State University in St. Paul. Architecture Advantage worked with Metro State University to find new uses for spaces that needed re-imagining amid the global pandemic when many students were forced off campus. With this renovation, the once-thriving but now-empty cafe, which boasts high ceilings and ample daylight, became the campus bookstore. The vacated bookstore in the Library building was then converted to house a hybrid office suite and an updated space for the Gordon Parks Gallery. The hybrid space, designed to provide better access to community partners and academic internship support, includes flexible working desks, a conference room, smaller huddle rooms, a kitchenette, and support spaces for the department. • What a year it's been! As we approach the end of 2024, we're taking a look back at the projects we wrapped up this year, starting with the Student Affairs Renovation at Minneapolis Community & Technical College (MCTC). This renovation included 47,215 SF, encompassing the entire second floor of the campus T-building and was completed in four phases. Student program areas emphasized access and visibility with dynamic wayfinding and branding features to increase a sense of identity. Staff program areas concentrated on improving efficiencies and encouraging collaboration between departments. The transformation of Student Services empowers the college to realize their fundamental goal: the success of their students.
