Two weeks ago, ACFA had the pleasure of meeting with the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) team from the U.S. on their fact-finding mission in Australia. From left to right: Randy Lange (AWI President), Dean Brakell (ACFA CEO), Doug Hague (AWI CEO), and Hunter Morrison (AWI Technical Director). Despite being oceans apart, ACFA and AWI share a strong focus on training, industry standards, and member support. This meeting marks the beginning of a promising collaboration aimed at fostering better practices. #throwbackthursday #projectspotlight – Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center The Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, MD was completed in 2007-2008 featuring a variety of customized millwork. Traditional wood finishes were highlighted throughout the hotel lobby and high-end suites, as well as trim work for the convention center and ballrooms. Specialized spaces included a sports bar with acrylic and metal features, a seafood restaurant with distressed oak paneling and a high-end spa incorporating glass and polished metals.
