关于我们
Architects FORA believes everyone deserves beauty, security, and joy; we exist to solve some of the world’s toughest design challenges. Right now that challenge is the supply of affordable, accessible, and abundant housing, so our mission is to create vibrant, resilient, and equitable housing at all scales. FORA’s extensive housing portfolio features over a million square feet and over 2,300 housing units in a wide variety of award-winning developments built over 40 years. FORA’s designs honor and support diverse populations, including very- and extremely-low income residents, seniors, families, the formerly homeless, and developmentally disabled adults. With an attention to materiality, sustainable design, dynamic programming, and community engagement, FORA creates housing that fosters connection, wellness, and empowerment for its residents and the larger neighborhood as a whole. We are a group of diverse and intentional designers with a desire to create enduring, high-performance, living-centered environments. As a 100% women-owned virtual practice, we’re known for doing things differently than your typical architecture firm. Identified by our peers as a uniquely feminist practice, we are inclusive, collaborative, compassionate, and adaptable activists and designers. / What Sets FORA Apart? ? Taking a walk through Roosevelt Park Apartments during our annual retreat! ???? This newly completed affordable housing project, developed with First Community Housing and built by James E. Roberts-Obayashi Corp. (JERO), provides 80 homes for families and transitional-age youth in one of Silicon Valley’s most vibrant communities. Our team had the chance to walk the site with our incredible contractors at JERO, whose expertise and collaboration were instrumental in bringing this project to life. The strong working relationship has been key to ensuring this project’s success and creating a space that truly serves the community. We’re proud to have been part of a project that brings not only homes but hope and opportunity to the families who need it most.?? #AffordableHousing #CommunityImpact #RooseveltParkApartments

Happy 2025 California Construction Day! ????? Today, we’re celebrating the awesome work happening on our construction sites, and loving seeing so many women in hart hats leading the way! At Architects FORA, we cherish seeing our designs come to life—every site visit is a reminder of why we do this work: to create housing that will soon welcome its residents home. ???? Construction site visits are more than just check-ins; they’re essential learning experiences that shape us into better architects. Seeing materials, details, and systems come together in real-time strengthens our design approach and deepens our respect for the builders who make it all happen. Here’s to the collaboration, learning, and progress happening on-site every day! ?????? #CAConstructionDay #WomenInConstruction #AffordableHousing #ArchitectsOnSite

Bringing art to life at Roosevelt Park Apartments! ???? Architects FORA partnered with First Community Housing and muralist Shayne M. “Quetsmo” Oseguera to curate a stunning mural that celebrates the beauty and resilience of the South Bay Area and California. The 100+ foot mural, inspired by local plants, animals, and culture, embodies the strength of the community, with a striking Elephant Cactus as the centerpiece. We were excited to visit the finished mural in person during our retreat! We love an opportunity to work closely with the artist to help strengthen the relationship between building and mural. This vibrant mural not only reflects the diversity and spirit of the area but also serves as a symbol of hope for the residents, many of whom are young adults and families who have experienced homelessness???? ?? Nothing beats seeing our hard work come to life! ??During our annual FORA Retreat, we had the incredible opportunity to walk through the Mitchell Park project under construction with our clients, Eden Housing, Inc., and our construction team, L&D Construction. ? ? This hands-on experience is invaluable for our team, especially for our team members will less "boots on the ground" experience, as it provides the chance to connect with the project, contributing to and see firsthand how our designs come to life on-site. It’s one of the many reasons why our annual retreats are so important—building stronger connections, deepening knowledge, and fostering creativity. ???? ? #2025FORAAnnualRetreat #ProjectWalkthrough #LifeOfAnArchitect
