Check out the recently improved Salina Airport Authority Hangar 626, designed by the team at Architect One, Inc! Hutton Design+Build is proud to have worked on this innovative Salina aviation project. Kansas has such a rich aviation history and we're honored to have contributed to it with this renovation. Our team’s commitment to quality is evident in the details of this hangar, but the innovation of this hangar is in the fire suppression system. Hutton installed a state-of-the-art Clean Agent Fire Suppression system in Hangar 626, a first for Kansas airports and possibly the whole region. This foamless system uses a super-cooling agent to extinguish fires quickly and efficiently without leaving any residual damage. It's activated with smoke or heat detection, cutting off oxygen to the fire and putting it out quickly. This technology is set to elevate safety standards at the Salina Airport and beyond.

Happy National Intern Day from Architect One! ? We are excited to introduce our summer intern Coral Aboud, AIAS ! Coral is entering her 5th and final year at the University of Kansas with Studio 804. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Architecture and a minor in Latin American & Caribbean Studies with a focus on indigenous languages. ? "While working at AO I have had the opportunity to broaden my knowledge of the architectural profession and actually get to practice it. While schools are busy teaching us design and code, we don't often move beyond the schematic phase. Working at an architectural firm has provided me with a more wholistic view of a project from start to finish. This has allowed me to work on various project types in different phases, and get real world experience with clients, contractors, and on site before I graduate. I am grateful to have worked at AO for the last two summers and to receive their support to learn more about the industry as a student!" ? Create a safe, humane space for children and families needing behavioral healthcare. Through collaborative efforts and data-driven decisions, they built a new facility to better serve the growing child population. Orizon Aerostructures were in a position where they needed to efficiently build a new facility to allow for growth and expansion of their industrial and manufacturing operations in Chanute, Kansas.?Our team at Architect One was honored to work closely with the Owners and the build team to develop a new 100,000sf design solution to be constructed adjacent to their existing operations to help accomplish this. The new facility includes a large open, high-bay structure with an abundance of room for testing, manufacturing, assembly, and shipping needs for Orizon’s growing operations.??The new structure would also have modern, state of the art office space to support the large area where their everyday operations were underway.??The design brings a distinct identity to the company, and is easily recognized by passerby’s in this unique, rural area of SE Kansas.?The expansion of their operations, and efficiencies of the new facility brought much-needed employment opportunities to the region.
