We were honored to be a part of the AIA TN Conference on Architecture in Knoxville, TN last week to take part in inspiring discussions and tours around this year’s theme exploring both architecture’s physical relationship to material flows and resources within ecological systems as well as architecture’s intangible relationship to history, memory, and lesser-acknowledged cultural contexts. Thank you @aiatennessee for inviting archimaniac Jacob Davis, AIA, LEED AP to present as part of the panel on “Framing a Sustainable Design Practice” exploring efforts towards climate action as we strive to create a healthier, more resilient and equitable future. We would also like to extend our appreciation to the AIA Tennessee Design Awards Jury for recognizing the following projects: Girls Inc. Youth Farm Award of Excellence Fleetview Residence Award of Merit Youth Villages – Shelby Oaks Award of Merit We look forward to 2025 in Nashville, TN!

We are excited to share that archimania’s office in Memphis, Tennessee has received LEED Platinum Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the highest rating in the LEED program. The 663 South Cooper project was driven by community reinvestment, a mission to unveil the performance economics of net zero and zero carbon design, and launched archimania’s Carbon Neutral Corridor Research, to be published in late Summer of 2024. The study explores Middle America’s aging commercial corridor building stock, and the spaces between, as a conduit for 21st-century community building, defining district solutions that better position communities to combat climate change while connecting people through resilient, authentic and accessible design. A more resilient future arises from collaboration, innovation and a collective commitment. Thank you to our fellow archimaniacs, consultants and contractor @grindertaber for your vision on this project.

We are excited to announce Hannah Papa and John Welcher have been elevated to Associate in the firm. Hannah Papa, NCIDQ, IIDA, has been with the firm since 2015 bringing authentic solutions across typologies that enhance how we experience space. Her process is driven by the client relationship, exploring as partners the connection between interior design, the exterior envelope and the environment. Hannah seeks solutions that are responsive and resilient, considering with each project the economic, social, and environmental impact. Her belief that design should support connection, community and curiosity further feeds her love for her city and the environment. Hannah serves as mentor in the IIDA Student Mentoring Program and as Director of Administration on the IIDA Tennessee Board. John Welcher, AIA, LEED Green Associate is passionate about architecture and its potential to contribute to stronger, more equitable communities. His belief in the positive social impact of architecture has led him to serve on multiple advisory boards for the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, Government Relations Committee for the State of Tennessee AIA, and numerous planning and visioning committees in addition to his current role on the AIA Memphis Board of Directors. Congratulations Hannah and John! Join us on Instagram @archimania to learn more about our team and the work we are doing in Memphis and beyond.

We were honored to have been recognized this past weekend by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) with an AIA Education Facility Design Award of Excellence for Collage Dance in Memphis, Tennessee. The Design Award, presented June 7 in Washington, DC at the AIA Conference on Architecture & Design, celebrates state-of-the-art learning environments across the country and provides an opportunity to engage in critical evaluation and experimentation, not as an end in itself, but in the context of our clients and their needs. “We are honored to receive this national award on behalf of our team and Collage Dance. It was a privilege to be a design partner as the center implements their vision now and into the future.” Todd Walker, FAIA, Founding Partner Learn more about the project: https://lnkd.in/eh5jfnX2 Learn more about the amazing work being done at Collage Dance: https://lnkd.in/ekHcyttR
