The barn and its modern addition harmonizes with its rural setting, allowing fresh air and views of the changing season to enhance the space, showcasing how architecture can work in harmony with nature. Take a barn once used for drying tobacco in western Pennsylvania’s Armstrong County, transport it to and reconstruct it in Chester County and voilà! The stunning Au Soleil d’Or Farm bank barn now houses the owner’s beloved horses as well as loft space for entertaining guests. It’s a great joy to see beautiful old barns find new purpose. We’re excited to share that Audrey’s Children, a film about the incredible life of Dr. Audrey Evans, will be hitting theaters nationwide later this month. As the godson of Dr. Evans, Archer & Buchanan firm partner Richard Buchanan is deeply proud of her groundbreaking work in medicine and her unwavering compassion. While this might be a bit outside the typical architectural posts, it’s a personal project near and dear to our hearts. In addition to her inspiring career, Dr. Evans’ legacy includes a close connection to our work, having contributed to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region through an addition to the building. Audrey’s Children showcases her incredible life and the challenges faced by families supported by the Ronald McDonald House. The film makes its theatrical debut on March 28.
