In this week's Flourishing Friday I discuss what our Progress Pulse survey reveals about AI attitudes. The more hopeful people are about humanity's ability to make progress, the more likely they are to see AI as a positive force for human flourishing. https://lnkd.in/ggaqZpUr

We are thrilled to have Justin Callais joining the team full-time as our new Chief Economist. You can read about his plans for research, outreach, and future projects in this interview: https://lnkd.in/gu8M3aeM Welcome aboard, Justin!
I'm very happy to share that I am the new Chief Economist at Archbridge Institute! I've worked with Gonzalo Schwarz and the entire wonderful team for a few years now, and being able to step into this new role makes me incredibly excited. I look forward to being able to continue my research on mobility, freedom, entrepreneurship, and flourishing, along with continuing to connect with various other organizations that aim to achieve the same goals. My time at University of Louisiana at Lafayette was great, and I am sad to leave. But I look forward to this new step in my life!

In our latest interview for Profectus Magazine, Archbridge President Gonzalo Schwarz talks with Nobel Prize-winning economist Edmund Phelps about his book "Mass Flourishing" and the essential ingredients for the good life. ?? Full article: https://lnkd.in/gpUw2Azx Here is an excerpt from Dr. Phelps: "The radical significance of the modern economy, or an economy sufficient in dynamism, lies in the nonmaterial benefits of meaningful work. The modern economy makes it possible for participants to rack up achievements, experience personal growth, and use their own judgment. Such satisfactions were out of reach of all but a tiny minority in traditional economies, including the mercantile economies of the commercial age, since not much out of the ordinary was achieved—other than swapping goods at greater and greater distances. People cannot flourish on material rewards alone, though they are also important. When work is meaningful it provides people with a sense of purpose." #Interview #NobelPrize #Economics #EconomicsOfFlourishing #HumanFlourishing #Flourishing #MassFlourishing #Dynamism #EconomicDynamism #BusinessDynamism
