Ya'Meer Thomas-Lowery, Hybrid DPT Class of 2025, was awarded the prestigious Otho Davis Foundation scholarship at the awards banquet on 11/19/24. Ya-Meer received this scholarship due to his academic excellence, his service, and his current and future commitment to athletes. The Otho Davis Scholarship Foundation was established in 1999 at a dinner honoring Otho Davis, Head Trainer for the Philadelphia Eagles for 23 years. That night, Otho requested that the proceeds go towards a scholarship for aspiring students studying sports medicine or a related field. We are exceptionally proud of Ya'Meer and this wonderful accomplishment!

Check out these pictures from the first joint College of Health Sciences AEDI session, organized by Sophie Farley (PA department) and Marty Eastlack (PT department) for PA, PT and PH students, staff and faculty. The session was presented by a wonderful and insightful speaker. Thank you, Dr. Heman-Ackah, for sharing your experiences with us!

We are happy to report that members of our faculty contributed to an exciting recent research publication. Frederic Breidenbach III PT, DPT, FAAOMPT, Phil Malloy PT, PhD, and Ryan Zarzycki PT, DPT, PhD collaborated with Michael Eckrich PT, DPT, SCS, MS, CSCS and our very own PhD student Jeffrey Paskewitz PT, DPT to examine risk factors for arm pain in youth baseball players, with the ultimate goal of informing injury risk reduction. Through their research, the team worked to identify factors that contribute to arm pain, with the goal of minimizing throwing injuries in young athletes. We are excited to see how this growing body of research will contribute to the field of physical therapy!

The Parkinson Council is holding their largest fundraising event, the Walk to Stamp Out Parkinson's, on Nov 2nd from 11:00am-1:00pm. The Physical Therapy Department has formed an Arcadia team, team AU GOLD. As you may know, the Parkinson Council has supported Stay Fit for many years now. Stay Fit is a community exercise program for people with Parkinson disease or multiple sclerosis. It would be great for us to give back to the Parkinson Council in some small way! Last year we had a great team of faculty, students and our exercisers! It was a great day! The Parkinson Council is a local organization so all of the money raised stays in the local tri-state area. They fund research and services for individuals with Parkinson disease. Please consider joining the team and/or donating. You can do either at the link at the link below: https://lnkd.in/emY_-aGS
