We are honored to be selected by the Washington Auto Mall to be this month's recipient of the Driven By Hope Award. This award recognizes non-profit organization who are making a difference in Washington County. We are also excited to have Washington's own, Kristin Emery, write the feature article about us that appeared in Sunday's Observer-Reporter.

Shoveling your sidewalk is more than just a neighborly thing to do, it could mean the difference between someone being able to get to the store, or a doctor's appointment, or being confined to their home.

The holiday season is a time of joy, reflection, and diverse traditions—from the twinkling lights of Christmas to the glow of the Hanukkah menorah and the vibrant celebrations of Kwanzaa. At Arc Human Services, fostering inclusivity is essential to honoring the many beliefs, traditions, and cultures among our colleagues and those we serve. Recognizing and celebrating someone else’s holiday enriches our understanding and deepens connections. Small yet meaningful gestures—like decorating with inclusive themes, hosting a holiday potluck, or acknowledging someone’s unique traditions—help build a culture of respect and belonging. This season, let’s honor our differences and embrace the spirit of togetherness. By recognizing our shared humanity, we reflect the best of our mission and values, creating a workplace and home filled with warmth and unity. Wishing you a joyful and inclusive holiday season, however you celebrate! Happy Holidays!

We are proud to receive Encova Insurance's Safety Recognition Award for 2024. Our Safety Committee works hard to create policies that keep our people safe and lessen the chance for accidents, so it's nice to get a little recognition for the things that Don't happen. 😃

The Holidays can be a challenging time for our mental health. That's why it's especially important to practice self-care, advocate for your needs, and reach out to professionals if you need extra support. We hope everyone has a fantastic Holiday season, but it's ok to ask for help if you find yourself becoming overwhelmed or depressed. Here is a list of tips and resources if you, or someone you know, are struggling this year. - Be realistic. Everything doesn't have to be "perfect". - Take a step back. Turn off your phone. Go for a walk if you can. - Plan your time. Don't wait until the last minute to do big projects. - It's ok to say "No." Be honest with yourself and your family & friends. - Ask for help if you need it. This includes seeking professional help.
