Connecting Students with Career Possibilities Career exploration isn’t just about learning the technical skills of a job—it’s about seeing possibilities and breaking down barriers. Our Youth Links students recently visited Sheehan Cadillac, where they explored careers in the automotive industry. From watching a technician remove an Escalade engine to experiencing the latest robotics in action, they got a behind-the-scenes look at what makes a dealership run. But the most valuable part of the visit? Building connections. When businesses open their doors to students with disabilities, they’re not just providing a learning opportunity—they’re helping foster understanding, build confidence, and dismantle misconceptions about inclusive hiring. Seeing our students’ enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to learn firsthand is a game-changer for potential workforce partners. We had an absolute blast celebrating World Down Syndrome Day with the incredible medical students from Nova Southeastern University’s American Medical Association (AMA) chapter! For the past two years, they have volunteered with us for this special event, and it has become a tradition we all look forward to. This year, they joined our preschool children and students in the ABLE Afterschool program for a fun-filled day of arts and crafts, helping them customize their own socks in honor of the occasion. Their enthusiasm, kindness, and creativity made the experience even more special! We are so grateful for their continued involvement and the meaningful connections they build with our students. Thank you, NSU AMA students, for bringing so much joy to our kids—we can’t wait to continue this wonderful tradition next year! ???????
