Last Friday, we came together with our community, partners, and friends to celebrate Arc Broward's mission of creating pathways to employment for people with disabilities. Held during National Disability Employment Awareness Month, our 2nd Annual InspHired Luncheon presented by UKG recognized honorees who inspire us with their dedication, resilience, and commitment to an inclusive workforce. Porter Student Chef of the Year, for her outstanding talent in culinary arts presented by Jennifer O'Flannery Anderson President and CEO of Community Foundation of Broward Kristy Novak, Arc Works Volunteer of the Year, whose dedication enriches our job readiness programs presented by Angelica Santibanez with Amazon. Andrew Garnett, Business Advisory Leadership Award winner, for his leadership and advocacy for disability employment. Today, we celebrated Zhyon’s graduation from the Arc Educates Entry-level Culinary Arts Certificate program! He impressed us all with a lunch inspired by his Bahamian roots—absolutely delicious! Surrounded by his family, classmates, instructors, and kitchen colleagues, we cheered him on as he steps into a bright future. Zhyon’s culinary talent and caring heart make him such a special young man. A true honor! Special Needs Group's President, CEO and Founder Andrew Garnett has been selected as a recipient of the BAC Leadership Award at the upcoming Arc Broward InspHired Awards Luncheon! He was honored alongside other incredible individuals who champion diversity, equity and inclusion in the workforce at the InspHired Awards Luncheon, which took place today at the Westin Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. Today was a celebration full of achievement, resilience, and the transformative power of inclusive hiring practices.

We’re so proud of our participants who started new jobs!! Lynn, AJ, and Cheyenne all started at Amerant Bank Arena working at the concession stands for the Florida Panthers, and Robert started as a dishwasher at @maplestreetbiscuitcompany.
