Meet Simon Mangone, our Process Controls Lead based in Sault Ste. Marie. With a total of 10 years at ARAUCO - North America—starting as a summer student and transitioning to full-time for the past 8 years—Simon works in the electrical department, where every day brings new challenges. Inspired by his father, who began as a millwright when the mill was built, Simon pursued an education in electrical engineering and secured an apprenticeship after graduating. He enjoys the dynamic environment and the opportunity to learn while working alongside a great team. We are thrilled to spotlight Jeremiah Kohnert, an ARAUCO Community Champion Grant winner! Jeremiah has been making a difference as a volunteer firefighter since 2015 and a part-time fire inspector since 2018. With two years of military service as a firefighter, his commitment to serving others is truly inspiring. Jeremiah’s dedication goes beyond just responding to emergencies. With the Community Champion Grant, he helped the Grayling Fire Dept purchase a griddle to bring the community closer together. “The purpose of this is to bring the community together, to show firefighters as actual people and not just as emergency services personnel. Hopefully, we can grow and create positive relationships by sharing stories,” Jeremiah shared.
