Arapahoe County commissioners helped celebrate an agreement to build a temporary stadium and training facility in the City of Centennial for the new Denver NWSL team Thursday! The project includes training fields, shared-use fields, and a 15,000-seat temporary stadium. In January, the NWSL announced Denver as the newest home for a women’s professional soccer team. Plans for a permanent soccer stadium in Denver are complete, but construction isn’t expected until 2028. The Cherry Creek School District will also benefit from the arrangement, which brings two natural grass soccer fields and one artificial turf field to the 43-acre property. The league will be the primary tenant on those fields, but the school district can use them occasionally. The school district will also have access to four additional fields for soccer, flag football and lacrosse. Learn more: https://ow.ly/EgLW50VqFMw

Arapahoe County is Colorado's first county and the third largest in the state with a population of more than 618,000. The County has 13 incorporated communities, including Aurora, Bennett, Bow Mar, Centennial, Cherry Hills Village, Columbine Valley, Deer Trail, Englewood, Foxfield, Glendale, Greenwood Village, Littleton, and Sheridan. Arapahoe County was named for the Arapaho Indians, who along with the Cheyenne Indians, occupied most of Colorado when it was only a territory. An elected, five-member Board of County Commissioners serves as the administrative and policy‐making body. Voters also elect the County Assessor, Clerk and Recorder, Coroner, District Attorney, Sheriff and Treasurer. Arapahoe County has 2,011 employees and a $339.3 million budget. The County has one of the lowest mill levies of counties on Colorado's Front Range. The County Administration Building is located at 5334 S. Prince Street in Littleton, Colorado, but we offer locations throughout Arapahoe County.

Congrats to our Elections Division, which was recently honored by the Election Center for working with Adams and Denver counties to serve voters along their borders! Arapahoe County co-manages several vote centers and ballot boxes that allow voters from any surrounding county to vote their unique ballot, rather than a provisional or statewide ballot that wouldn’t contain contests specific to voters’ precincts. Similarly, voters who return their mail ballot to a co-branded 24-hour ballot drop box can rest assured their ballot will be delivered to their home county.
