  • Meet Tanzola Matthews, a dedicated Food Service Director who has made a remarkable impact in the world of corrections. Tanzola not only oversees operations at Forsyth County Detention Center, but also serves as a proctor for the IN2WORK program, teaching kitchen workers the skills they need to succeed. Tanzola’s commitment to excellence shines through in the achievements of her students. In fact, her second IN2WORK class achieved a 90% average, the highest in the program’s history! Tanzola has also been instrumental in expanding the program, traveling to Arizona to help open the Arizona DOC, where she trained new staff and helped them run Aramark kitchens. What Tanzola loves most about her role? Seeing her students go from learning the basics to cooking meals from scratch, with a menu they’ve chosen themselves. It's incredibly rewarding for her to watch her students and team develop skills that empower them to take ownership of kitchen operations. The work in corrections can be challenging, but Tanzola stays inspired by reminding herself and others to keep showing up and let their work ethic speak for itself. We’re proud to have Tanzola on our team—thank you for everything you do! #StaffSpotlight #IN2WORK #Teamwork #FoodServiceLeadership

At Aramark, employees around the world consistently volunteer their time and expertise to strengthen the communities they live and work in through Aramark Building Community. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, employees were encouraged to spend the day serving their local communities—and provided a unique opportunity to make an even greater impact. For the second year in a row, Aramark invited MLK Day volunteers to nominate a favorite nonprofit to be considered for one of ten $1,000 charitable donations. We are proud to share that ACS's own LaKeisha Daniels was one of the ten recipients! LaKeisha directed her donation to Kind Hearts Outreach, an organization that supports the homeless and young adults aging out of the foster care system in the Dallas area. LaKeisha shared, "I am committed to giving back to my community. I have family members that have experienced being unhoused and have experienced food insecurities. I want others to treat them with respect." A huge congratulations to LaKeisha--thank you for all you do to positively impact our community. We are proud to support team members like LaKeisha who are dedicated to making a difference! Read more here: https://bit.ly/3Focoao #CommunityImpact #MLKDay #AramarkBuildingCommunity #ACS

We’re excited to highlight Bryan Gibbons, a Field Trainer for the East Region with the Maryland State DPSCS, as he celebrates his second year with Aramark! Bryan plays a crucial role in supporting the IN2WORK program as an instructor and assisting locations with PRIMA and vendor-related challenges. What drives Bryan is his ability to make a real difference in people’s lives—especially for those who may not have many opportunities. By helping reduce operating costs for the state and training incarcerated individuals, Bryan is not just improving operations but also helping individuals prepare for a successful life after release. One of Bryan’s proudest moments was witnessing two IN2WORK graduates express how much more prepared they felt to re-enter their communities. He’s also made a significant impact by offering creative cost-saving solutions to clients, solving longstanding challenges, and continuously improving the services Aramark provides. Bryan's found immense fulfillment in teaching and training, knowing that each session can contribute to someone's success. We are proud to have Bryan on our team—his dedication and passion for making a positive impact truly embody the spirit of Aramark! #EmployeeSpotlight #Corrections #Aramark

  • Check out this article about the IN2WORK program at Vanderburgh County Jail! The facility recently graduated several IN2WORK students, where they gained valuable food service and kitchen management skills. To celebrate, the graduates prepared a meal for their families and shared their exciting plans for life after incarceration. Vanderburgh County Sheriff Noah Robinson emphasized the positive impact of vocational education on rehabilitation, and with plans for a new wing dedicated to this model, the jail is setting the stage for even greater success. The goal? Reducing recidivism by 15-20% by 2026. Meet Jason French, the ACS teams District Chef and IN2WORK instructor in Kansas. Jason has been part of the Corrections team for nearly one year and has already made a huge impact in his role. As District Chef, Jason travels to various facilities across the state, teaching residents a wide range of culinary skills. From baking and food waste management to recipe following and kitchen sanitation, Jason is always excited to share his knowledge and help residents grow. One of Jason's passions is the IN2WORK program, where he not only teaches valuable culinary skills but also gets to experience the excitement of watching residents graduate. Jason is especially excited about the upcoming IN2WORK Aces competition at El Dorado Correctional Facility, the second of its kind in Kansas. He’s thrilled to see the residents showcase their talents and apply what they’ve learned through IN2WORK. Patience is a skill Jason has honed in his role, helping him manage the challenges that come with teaching a diverse group of residents. Jason believes the most rewarding part of his job is when residents begin to share their knowledge with others. "I feel most fulfilled when I see them teaching each other and passing on what they've learned." While there can be challenges, Jason approaches each situation with calm and reason, always aiming to find the best solution. Thank you for all that you do, Jason! We’re incredibly lucky to have you on the team! #EmployeeSpotlight #Corrections #ACS #Aramark
