Excited to announce the publication of collaborative research between AquaNRG: Environmental and Energy Tech Company and Kent State University led by Dr. Kuldeep Singh (Chaudhary), PhD. This study received support from AquaNRG's Small Business Innovation Research (#SBIR) Phase II grant, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), alongside backing from the University Research Council at KSU, Ohio. The research delves into the spatiotemporal dynamics of calcite dissolution processes utilizing time-lapse high-resolution X-ray CT imaging of live column experiments, coupled with real-time data logging of effluent pH and TDS. Time-lapse imaging of live calcite dissolution was conducted at The The University of Texas at Austin High-Resolution X-ray CT Facility, employing a custom-built NSI XCT scanner. The outcomes of this research have been instrumental in refining AquaNRG's novel multiscale and #AI enhanced reactive transport modeling platform i.e. #aiRock. One of the key implications of this study lies in its potential applications, particularly in predicting spatiotemporal changes in porosity-permeability within geologic carbon storage (#CCS,#GCS, #CCUS) as a consequence of #CO2-fluid-rock interactions. This research offers valuable insights into enhancing our understanding of carbon storage mechanisms.
