APT Solar Solutions is a Limited Liability Company (LLC) incorporated in the state of Michigan in May 2021. APT Solar Solutions is a small business, founded by Dr. Mojtaba Akhavan-Tafti, a faculty member at the University of Michigan (UM) College of Engineering and the inventor of three-dimensional (3D) solar modules, and led by Steve Annear, a seasoned executive with extensive experience leading a variety of enterprises including commercialization of new technologies. The APT team has more than 55 years of product/service R&D and business development expertise and the Company holds a worldwide exclusive and perpetual license to the technology from UM. Additionally, strong partnerships have commenced with Ann Arbor SPARK, Michigan Small Business Development Center (MI-SBDC), and Centrepolis Accelerator.

Since the installation in 2023, our solar lights have reliably lit up wooded paths at the lodge in all weather conditions and snow cover, helping to bring the sky closer to stargazers, and lodge guests alike.
