Shardines debuts with the most scalable validator design ever. >1M TPS by increasing the number of nodes per validator and using micro-batching to minimize cross-shard communication. Shared state on Aptos now reaches massive scalability no one thought possible (>15x of other sharding solutions) and this means that composability at scale is a reality. When people hear "crypto," they often think of trading—an exciting and dynamic space. But what’s often overlooked is the groundbreaking blockchain technology that powers it all. At Aptos Labs, we are relentless in pushing the boundaries of blockchain technology. Excited to have been part of one such breakthrough: Shardines – Aptos’ Sharded Execution Engine, scaling-out execution to 1M TPS and beyond ?? ?? ?? . Why does this matter? Scalability has long been a major challenge for blockchains. As Web3 adoption grows, traditional architectures struggle with throughput limits, leading to high latency and gas fees—barriers to real-world adoption. Execution is inherently CPU-bound, meaning a single machine can only go so far before hitting its limits. The only way forward? Scaling-out across multiple machines, and that’s exactly what Shardines enables. This was a true team effort, and I couldn’t be more grateful to work alongside such brilliant minds!
