Mold flow analysis is like the GPS for plastic injection molding, guiding engineers through the process of modifying material flow into a mold. This simulation allows them to visualize and optimize how plastic fills the mold, much like planning the best route to avoid traffic jams. By predicting potential manufacturing hiccups before creating physical prototypes, it saves time, reduces costs, and ensures a smoother production process. Imagine being able to foresee and fix issues before they even arise—this is the power of mold flow analysis, an everyday tool in the world of injection molders. #themoreyouknow

Every semester, a group of students from the University of Minnesota visits Aprios onsite to do an egg drop! The students are split up into teams and each team is tasked with creating a casing to protect the egg from breaking as it is dropped from 6 feet in the air. It was a great night with some pizza, a tour of the facility and an exciting drop that led team Mars Rover to victory!

In today’s competitive manufacturing landscape, efficiency is everything. Design for Assembly (DFA) is an engineering approach that simplifies the product design process to streamline manufacturing, reduce costs, and improve overall quality! Why does DFA matter? ?? Lowers production costs by reducing parts, assembly time, and the need for specialized labor. ?? Enhances product reliability by eliminating unnecessary fasteners and weak points. ?? Increases scalability by making designs easier to automate and standardize. ?? Improves quality control by reducing opportunities for human error and misalignment. #themoreyouknow
