Your source to discover apprenticeships in Illinois, available resources, and next steps for the future. Apprenticeships are a win-win for businesses and job seekers. ? Employers create or expand programs to build in-house talent, reduce turnover, and improve productivity as their future workforce gains experience. ? Apprentices, aka job seekers/students, are paid to learn and develop new skills through job training and classroom learning that earn credentials. Apprenticeship programs combine on-the-job training with classroom instruction that ties into attaining industry-recognized credentials. Using the ‘learn while you earn' model, an employer hires and pays apprentices while gaining job experience during the program. Pre-Apprenticeship programs are documented partnerships with an employer designed to prepare individuals to enter and succeed in an apprenticeship program.
