"We have our AI looking over [our dataset] and finding attack patterns, surfacing that to our clients. This allows us to deliver next-generation threat detection and threat intel that no one else in the market can deliver right now." — Brendan O'Connor, CEO, AppOmni. For security teams, keeping track of each SaaS app's function, evaluating risks, and combing through massive amounts of data to uncover security threats is an overwhelming—if not humanly possible—task. ?? AppOmni can help simplify SaaS security using the power of GenAI. https://hubs.la/Q03blCtY0 In a recent chat with Bill Sieglein, Founder of CISO ExecNet, Brendan shares how AI is impacting SaaS security, describes his journey from being a CISO to AppOmni founder, and much more. Catch the full interview in the comments.

    Our purpose is, the CISO

Need a little help explaining a cybersecurity tool? Use a comparison point that everyone will recognize. I love how Brendan O'Connor, CEO of AppOmni, framed SaaS Security in our recent interview. With SaaS security, ?”you can't take your existing tools, and lift and shift. You had to have a completely new approach,” Brendan said. He used a great example: If you take a device from America to Europe, all you need is a voltage converter, and you expect that the device will still work. But what if you got to Europe, and found that there was no plug in the wall? That’s what is happening with SaaS security. It’s why AppOmni is built for SaaS “from the ground up,” Brendan said. These simple comparisons are so powerful, whether we're communicating with the board or an executive who doesn't work in cyber. They provide clarity and make cybersecurity relatable. This was a really interesting interview, and I'm thankful to Brendan for sharing his time. A few years ago, Andy Land and I sat with Brendan at RSA, and learned about the vision for the company. We thought it was brilliant then, and it has been incredible to watch all of AppOmni’s progress in the years since! I hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch the interview to learn more about Brendan’s story, and why startups are the Olympics of work! AppOmni will be joining CISO ExecNet for a few upcoming roundtables. This company grew out of Brendan’s experience as a CISO, so we couldn’t be more excited for our members to meet the team! #ciso #cybersecurity #saas

    CTO and Co-founder at AppOmni

The average organization now relies on 112 SaaS applications, fueling productivity like never before. But with this growth comes serious security challenges — each app has unique configurations, risk levels, and potential config vulnerabilities that security teams must monitor. The complexity is staggering, and manual efforts alone can’t keep pace. The problem? Cyberthreats are evolving faster than security teams can react. Traditional security methods simply can’t scale to match the sheer number of SaaS applications, integrations, and misconfigurations that could expose sensitive data. ?The solution? AI-powered security. At AppOmni, we’re using Generative AI (GenAI) to simplify and strengthen SaaS security by: ?Turning security data into contextual observations—AskOmni provides clear, actionable answers in seconds. ? Identifying and mitigating risks faster—AI gives you all the info you need to take action, faster. ? Streamlining compliance and security monitoring—Ensuring businesses stay updated with evolving regulations. ? Breaking language barriers—With multi-lingual support, including Japanese, French, and English. AI-driven security isn’t just the future—it’s the present. As SaaS adoption skyrockets, organizations that use security tools powered by AI will gain a critical edge in protecting their data and staying ahead of cyber threats. ?? SaaS Security Blind Spots: Preventable Risks You Can’t Afford to Ignore ?? SaaS applications are a prime target for attackers, yet security teams often lack the visibility needed to prevent breaches. Exposed data frequently goes undetected, creating unnecessary risk, while SaaS audit logs remain fragmented and difficult to normalize, making it harder to fully utilize SIEMs for threat detection. The good news? These risks are preventable—with the right ???????????????????? and ??????????????. Without it, organizations are left vulnerable to misconfigurations, data exposure, and undetected threats. AppOmni will be at FS-ISAC in New Orleans the week of March 10th, ready to discuss how to eliminate these blind spots and strengthen SaaS security. Head to Booth #76 to see us! https://hubs.la/Q039KYTB0
