Five years ago today, Appalachian Highlands Community Dental Center opened its doors and welcomed its first patient. We are incredibly grateful for our JMH AEGD Residency, the positive impact it continues to make, and the unwavering support from our community. AHCDC JMH AEGD residents and faculty had the opportunity to hear a lecture tonight from Dr. Chad Westfall. Dr. Westfall is an outstanding local orthodontist and presenter of advanced orthodontic treatment. His cases all had excellent results and life changing smiles. Our local community continues to support our clinic and the education of our residents.?? #ahcdc #westfallorthodontics

AHCDC successfully completed its 15th Mini MOM Project, providing essential dental care to 121 patients and extracting 577 teeth to improve their health and well-being. In addition, 100 Ballad Health food boxes were distributed to those in need, further supporting our community. AHCDC Executive Director Elaine Smith, MDH, RDH, utilized her skillset to give back to the community in Wise, VA, at Give Kids A Smile Day! This day was held for elementary students in Wise, VA, in partnership with Dr. Emily Bowen from Mountain Empire Community College and Dr. David Templeton, a local dentist in Wise.
