Students selected to be part of the Forward Leadership Program work in teams on a diversity-related project for a local organization or agency, while attending regular leadership training courses. Thanks to all the students from local colleges and universities that came last weekend to API Forward Foundation’s 5th Annual Student Leadership Conference. This year, the event took place in the fall for the first time to coincide with the beginning of the school year back at Portland State University, Oregon’s Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institution. Congratulations to our very own, API Forward Foundation President, AMA PDX Co-President, and Washington County Public Affairs & Commmunications Coordinator, Christian Aniciete, MBA, for being selected as one of 12 delegates across the country for the prestigious FYLPRO Leadership Immersion Program by the Philippine Embassy. Christian is also the first delegate to come from the state of Oregon, representing the City of Beaverton! As part of the program, the delegates will travel to the Philippines this November to meet with, build bridges, and make connections with leaders and officials from government, business, and other sectors.
