Apache Gravitino 0.8.0 is the third major release since joining the Apache Software Foundation's incubator. This version introduces a range of features and enhancements designed to improve metadata management, usability, and security. Key highlights include a model catalog for managing model metadata with versioning, Credential vending for secure and convenient file access, and Fuse for Fileset, enabling local disk-like access to remote data. The release also addresses usability and performance improvements, such as optimized metadata caching, extended support for cloud storage, and new client tools, including a CLI. During this time, the project has achieved the following milestones: - Over 3,500 pull requests have been raised, 97% closed. - More than 3,000 issues have been reported. - Three ASF releases have been completed. - Four new committers have joined the team. - The project’s releases have been downloaded over 1,000,000 times. - A total of 170 contributors have contributed to the project. - The Apache Gravitino website has received over 50,000 visits from 106 countries.
