Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity is a 501(c)7 non-profit organization. Founded in the year 1906, it is the nation’s first and oldest intercollegiate Greek-letter organization for established for African American college men. The fraternity has over 700 chapters that span all across the United States, the Bahamas, Germany, London, South Africa and South Korea. Mission Statement Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities. Special Projects Alpha Phi Alpha's Special Projects are programs and activities that are sustained through collaborative efforts, memoranda of understanding, and/or outside financial assistance. Today, we recognize Brother Dr. Royce Burnett, who was appointed dean of the Earl G. Graves School of Business and Management at Morgan State University last July. Dr. Burnett joined Morgan with more than 17 years of professional experience in public accounting and business, including work with “Big 4” accounting firms and two decades of teaching, conducting research and academic administration in higher education. Throughout his career, he has distinguished himself as an effective, thoughtful, and innovative administrator, with a commitment to leveraging community engagement, fundraising and process management to overcome the ever-growing challenges faced within higher education today. Prior to his appointment at Morgan, Dr. Burnett served for the past seven years at Old Dominion University, where he held the positions of professor and chair for the Strome College of Business’?School of Accountancy.?He has also held administrative and/or faculty positions at Southern Illinois University – Carbondale (director, associate dean, University Provost Fellow and associate professor), University of Miami (assistant professor) and Oklahoma State University (instructor). ?
