Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity is a 501(c)7 non-profit organization. Founded in the year 1906, it is the nation’s first and oldest intercollegiate Greek-letter organization for established for African American college men. The fraternity has over 700 chapters that span all across the United States, the Bahamas, Germany, London, South Africa and South Korea. Mission Statement Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities. Special Projects Alpha Phi Alpha's Special Projects are programs and activities that are sustained through collaborative efforts, memoranda of understanding, and/or outside financial assistance. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. presents part 2 of its three-part Founders’ Day promotional trailer series released every Wednesday until Dec. 4 – Founders’ Day. Today it is ‘The Alpha Train,” which sets the stage for the Fraternity’s inspiration and founding as a direct result of the Niagara Movement led by Alpha man-to-be Brother Dr. W.E.B. Dubois. As the Alpha Train barrels across the globe and through time, the interposed images and footage chronicle the trials and triumphs of African Americans while juxtaposing similar incidents over time. It also highlights the involvement of Alpha Men and the Fraternity in the fight for the advancement and equal protections of African Americans and people of color in the public sector. The trailer includes then-Alpha Brother-to-be, Brother Dr. W.E.B. Dubois, who led the Niagara Movement and co-founded the NAACP; Civil Rights icon Brother Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. followed by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. 31st General President Harry E. Johnson, Sr., who raised $127 million to build The Memorial and now serves as its president and CEO; legendary Track & Field athlete, Brother Jesse Owens, who won four Gold Medals at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, shattering Adolf Hitler’s myth of white supremacy and superiority; legendary Athlete, Actor, and Activist, Brother Paul Robeson; the first African American U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Brother Thurgood Marshall, who also argued and won the landmark Brown v. Board of Education case; Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. 29th General President Milton Carver Davis, Jr., who was the attorney instrumental in the release of the last living Scottsboro Boy; Brother Congressman Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., a powerful politician and early Civil Rights spokesman; Brother Senator Rev.
