Join the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority at the American Planning Association’s Metro New Orleans section Lunch and Learn event on the Mississippi River! The 45-year-old terminal has been closed since 2019, but is now slated for a long-awaited face-lift. The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority, along with a local design team led by Batture and Studio West, have revealed preliminary plans for a $9.7 million dollar renovation to improve transit access and transform the site into a hub for community events and commercial opportunities. The event will begin at the Canal Street terminal and will include a ferry ride across the Mississippi River to the Algiers Terminal, where you will hear about the most recent updates on the renovation project. The program will include lunch at a neighboring restaurant in Algiers.
