March 6-8, our Engineered Wood Specialist Patrick Schleisman attended the Timber-Strong Design Build (TSDB) competition hosted at The University of Georgia - Southeast, officially kicking off the 2025 TSDB competitions. Congratulations to the winners! Thirteen universities participated. University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez took first place, Georgia Southern University took second place, and Georgia Tech College of Engineering took third. APA has been a proud sponsor of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Timber-Strong Design Build competitions since 2019, along with support from Simpson Strong-Tie and American Wood Council. The goal of the TSDB competition is to provide hands-on experiences and engage the next generation of structural engineers in sustainable wood design and construction.
