Another busy week in Aoife’s Clown Doctors control base naviguant the clown rounds on St John’s Ward in CHI Crumlin on Tuesday while simultaneously meeting children on rounds in University Hospital Galway. On Wednesday the clown doctors were spreading joy in CHI @Temple Street. Last but not least there was a clown round in Portiuncula University Hospital on St. Thérèse’s where Dr. hahaha & Dr. Dobedo had a delightful morning. “We met M who could make the sound of a trumpet with her mouth and so an orchestra of musical instruments made with our voices was born. We also sang a remix of a contemporary song with a girl who perfected the art of street dancing while lying down and singing. We learned the rules of Ladies Gaelic from a teen who specialises in scoring points, learned all about the difference between French cats and Irish cats from L, played our magic bells and shakers to get a grrove going on the ward. Even Dr. Zeb joined in. A bubble window show yielded lots of laughter inside and out. Snails and Squirrels and mice featured in many stories as well as dance, song and music. Senior Nurse Niamh watched us throughout the morning and was very pleased with us overall.
