INFORM seminar: Predictive modeling for high-throughput lipid analysis?is?an?important tool?for interpreting health and disease outcomes. Although commercially available lipid analysis software has some of these capabilities, it lacks model development and validation flexibility. This seminar introduces the basics of predictive modeling with real-world?lipidomics?data using R,?a?free?statistical computing language?with hundreds of modeling algorithms?and?a?unified coding architecture.? ? This seminar, taught by?Brian Piccolo, Assistant Professor at the Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center, equips participants with essential skills in predictive modeling for lipidomics using R and the caret package. By the end of this session, participants will: ?? Know how to install R and the caret package ?? Be introduced to the core concepts of predictive modeling, including model tuning, training, and validation ?? Understand the key differences between predictive modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence ?? Know the minimal R coding required to develop powerful predictive algorithms using the caret package ?? Be able to identify lipid metabolites relevant to predictive models using the caret package Mark your calendar! April 2, 2025, 10:00am-11:00am CDT?(Chicago, USA;?(GMT-5). We are thrilled to have such an incredible line up of speakers for this year's Fabric & Home Care Forum. Don't miss Marjory Moreau, PhD, Director of the Computational Toxicology Division for ScitoVation. Register here: https://buff.ly/Zt8hI03 Dr. Moreau’s research focuses on supporting and advancing new human systems biology-based approaches to chemical safety assessment. This work combines research on in vitro biokinetic modeling, physiologically based pharmacokinetic modeling and quantitative in vitro to in vivo extrapolation modeling to translate non-animal and human cell-based toxicity testing results to safe human exposure estimates to support human health assessment.? She completed her PhD in Public Health with a specialty in Toxicology at the University of Montreal, working on the quantitative relationship between exposure to BaP, the temporal evolution of biomarkers of exposure and the appearance of early biological alterations.? She finished her postdoctoral fellowship under the supervision of Andy Nong at Health Canada Computational Toxicology Laboratory. Marjory’s research work was supported by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) which focused on the application of pharmacokinetic models and high throughput screening results to evaluate the potential hazards of chemicals. This work also combined the in-vitro to in-vivo extrapolation approach with biomonitoring studies to bring forth into a public health context. Presentation(s): Importance of In Vitro and Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) Modeling Tools for Safety Assessment Wednesday, April 30, 2025 8:15 AM – 9:00 AM Pacific Panel Discussion Wednesday, April 30, 2025 10:45 AM – 11:45 AM Pacific

Very happy with this collaboration with Belcorp Research, Development & Innovation Team at Tocancipá, Colombia, one of the largest cosmetic companies in South America ???? Full text ?? ?? https://lnkd.in/ei_VYUcS This project is part of ángela del Pilar Mazabel Ríos Master's research at Universidad Nacional de Colombia ??. The study focused on the formulation of cosmetic emulsions using commercial emulsifiers from Vantage Personal Care (Lipomulse?), Evonik (Dermofeel?) or DSM (Amphisol K?). The emulsions incorporated a mixture of emolients—Caprylic/Capric triglyceride, Isoamyl cocoate, and Jojoba oil—along with additional ingredients such as humectants, preservatives and pH adjusters. To assess the physical stability and performance of the emulsions, several advanced characterization techniques were employed. These included the LUM GmbH LUMiSizer ? (emulsion stability/separation velocity), the Malvern Panalytical Mastersizer 3000 (droplet size of emulsions), and Kinexus rheometer (rheological profiling). The Texture Analyzer TA Plus Stable Micro Systems was also used to obtain the textural profile, as well as the Theta Flow Biolin Scientific AB and ZEISS Microscopy Axiocam for IFT and microstructural imaging, respectively ???. We hope this work contributes to the advancement of predictive modelling in cosmetic formulation to develop emulsions with tailored physicochemical and sensorial properties. Thanks to all the authors: Johnbrynner García, who led the research; Juanita Pulido Teuta, Liliam Palomeque, and Ramon Eduardo Vera Vera for the enlightening collaboration. This is part of the special issue honoring Professor Jean-Louis Salager Thanks also to all the Editorial team at AOCS and the Journal of Surfactant and Detergents Douglas Hayes Pam Landman Rebecca Guenard
