Although commercially available lipid analysis software has some of these capabilities, it lacks model development and validation flexibility. This seminar introduces the basics of predictive modeling with real-world?lipidomics?data using R,?a?free?statistical computing language?with hundreds of modeling algorithms?and?a?unified coding architecture.? ? This seminar, taught by?Brian Piccolo, Assistant Professor at the Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center, equips participants with essential skills in predictive modeling for lipidomics using R and the caret package. By the end of this session, participants will: ?? Know how to install R and the caret package ?? Be introduced to the core concepts of predictive modeling, including model tuning, training, and validation ?? Understand the key differences between predictive modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence ??
