48 Hours with #Founders in #SaltLakeCity was quite extraordinary! Over the years, I have heard superlatives of Utah from the youngest state to having the healthiest economy (fiscal stability category) in the US. I also read about how Salt Lake City has emerged as a vibrant hub for #Startups and #Tech #innovation (heard of #SiliconSlopes???). Utah's startup community is defined by a rich culture of co-creation, entrepreneurship and explosive growth across high tech industries, notably #biotechnology, #fintech, #cybersecurity and #SaaS. Some of the notable moments during my #DellforStartups trip to Utah include . . . ????Connecting with Tyler Jennings at the Reference Group session featuring Alex McArthur. During his #fireside chat, Alex shared #leadership lessons on building memorable #brands, addressed the balance between telling a great story and driving revenue growth, and stressed the importance of a clear brand message. ????Attending the Founders N' Funders All About Accelerators event at the SLC Kiln and connecting with the charming duo of Jeff Erickson and Inger Erickson. At the event, #Founders shared their learnings going through some of the top #accelerator programs in the world. I also enjoyed conversing with Harold Alvarez, JD, MBA, Tim Cooley, Molly Ernst and Jaron A. Erickson. ????Witnessing the 10 year anniversary celebration of 1 Million Cups (1MC) Salt Lake City. Founded by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, 1MC was founded on a simple premise that #entrepreneurs can network and grow?? their business over a cup of #coffee?IMC is a free, nationwide program designed to educate and connect local entrepreneurs. I enjoyed hearing from Robert C. Bell on how IMC #SLC has empowered 22K entrepreneurs while serving over 1M cups of coffee??, listened to Carl Churchill story on he co-founded Alpha Coffee and of course, I got a chance to interact with the one and ONLY, dynamic MO Reeder. ????Quick stop @ Any Hour Services - Electrical, Plumbing, Heating & Air in Orem to meet with James Perriton. James spoke on a wide range of topics from #AnyHourGroup's (parent company) acquisition of #HomeServices brands across the #US and the push for autopilot as the company scales. ????Sitdown with the invigorating John Bowers @ Silicon Slopes. John talked about the pioneering spirit of #Utahns, why the community functions as a solid family unit and #SiliconSlopes' sole purpose to uplift Utah's tech community to discover, connect and serve. Designating Utah as the #StartupCapital of the World, Gov. Spencer Cox's said Utah "has created the perfect ecosystem for startups to thrive" and I believe him. From its growing #VC scene to the collaborative spirit within its co-working spaces and #incubators, Utah has the nurturing infrastructure in place to support early-stage and high-growth startups.
