Any Baby Can is proud to be one of more than 120 Texas organizations?that recently called on the state Legislature?to make child care a priority during the upcoming legislative?session. Over 120 organizations signed on the statement, including business groups,?children’s advocacy groups, faith-based groups, associations of medical professionals, child care providers, community organizations, and others. We are all urging the Legislature to ensure that more families?have access to affordable, high-quality child care so they can go to work and kids can get the early learning opportunities they need during the critical early years of brain development. ?Did you know that 40% of families with a child with a special healthcare need experience financial hardship due to their child's condition? Finding high-quality, affordable childcare is incredibly challenging for the families we serve and presents a serious barrier to parental employment. The statement outlines multiple steps the Legislature can take to reach that goal. Those policy recommendations are similar to steps recently taken in other states like Texas.
